New Growth

from $120.00

For a few days in July 2021 smoke from the western US wildfires blew all the way to the East Coast, turning the sun into a red orb. One morning I hiked into one of my favorite old growth forests in Pennsylvania  and found this scene illuminated by the unusual red-shifted light. It was like the forest floor was painted with splotches of red, and this young tree with fresh green leaves stood out amongst the dark old growth trunks. This is part of my project photographing ancient forests. Taken with a medium format camera and printed by me as a chromogenic print. Signed, numbered and dated in pencil on front of mat. Limited edition of 250. For additional details including dimensions please scroll down. To see the frames click here.
